India is a complex nation with a variety of peoples, languages and numerous religious systems. The hope of India is the preaching of the gospel with a specific emphasis on reaching the younger generation with the message of Jesus Christ. Partners of Hope International is working to meet the spiritual needs of India by providing bible schools, planting churches, offering pastors Advancement Conferences, urban evangelism, printed literature, and distributing Bibles.

Other initiatives for POHI are the Hope Homes for Children. There are two homes emerging – one in Hyderabad and the other in the Karnataka Gold Fields region outside of Bangalore. Both ministries will be home to a number of children with no place to go. Since January, work has continued on the security wall around the Hyderabad Hope Home. Though there has been much opposition from the nearby villagers, work has not ceased but has slowed down a bit. The walls were completed in May 2006.

In Bangalore, facilities are still being researched in the Karnataka Gold Field region. A facility had been located but was unsuited for our needs. We now have our eye on a different and more workable facility. We plan to make a final decision on this property while in India this fall. Pastors Randy Howard and Charlie Speelman traveled to India in January 2006 to register the ministry with the government. Final approval was given and Partners of Hope now has all the privileges of a non-profit, tax-exempt ministry in the nation.
